This Monday, the senior official will join the Ministerial Meeting organized by Costa Rica, Croatia and Denmark, on the responsibility to protect women and girls, to prevent atrocities such as genocides and war crimes.

In addition, throughout the day, he will hold bilateral meetings with his counterparts from Turkey, Suriname and Andorra.

On Tuesday, September 21, in the morning, the Vice President and Chancellor will accompany President Duque in his speech before the UN General Assembly, whose central theme is post-COVID-19 economic recovery, from a sustainable perspective .

At noon local time, the senior official will participate in the High Level Ministerial Meeting to safeguard the achievements of 20 years of international commitments in Afghanistan, in order to continue supporting the future of Afghan girls and women, and their access to the education.

Likewise, together with the Colombian Head of State, he will hold meetings with the Secretary General of the United Nations, António Guterres; with the Secretary General of NATO, Jens Stoltenberg; with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, as well as with regional leaders.

On Wednesday morning, she will participate in the tenth Ministerial Conference of the Community of Democracies, an event that will address the importance of strengthening democracy in the world. At 10:30 a.m., the Vice President and Chancellor will join the Investment opportunities forum of the Pacific Alliance, focused on women’s economic empowerment, investment, regional digital transformation and sustainability.

At 3:30 p.m., he will intervene in the event of Renewal of Commitments to Strengthen and Advance with Democracy in the Region, which will focus on the case of Nicaragua.

On Thursday, September 23, the senior official will participate in a Meeting of Ibero-American Foreign Ministers, organized by the Ibero-American General Secretariat (SEGIB), an international body that supports the 22 countries that make up the Ibero-American Community of Nations.
