All major city events are held with the support of volunteers, including the Moscow Urban Forum and the Vaccination Helpers campaign.

Every year, volunteers from the capital spend thousands of hours volunteering. They help Muscovites during city holidays and events, participate in sports and charitable events, and take care of the preservation of historical and cultural values. Since the beginning of the year, volunteers have devoted about 86 thousand hours to helping the city.

Mosvolonter is the country’s largest resource center for the development of volunteerism. For seven years of work, he gave the volunteers of the capital the opportunity to take part in more than 800 events and promotions. Among them are the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the opening of the Zaryadye Park, the City Day, the celebration of the 80th anniversary of VDNKh and others. Since the beginning of 2021, over 13 thousand people have supported about 80 events.

One of the most anticipated events of the past summer season was the 10th anniversary Moscow Urban Forum. It was joined by about 20 thousand online viewers and more than 350 foreign and Russian speakers. 214 volunteers helped the guests of the site. They were engaged in accreditation of forum participants, navigation, information support, and acted as assistants to foreign speakers. Volunteers devoted about 6.4 thousand hours to help.

The longest campaign this year was the Vaccination Helpers campaign, which started in the capital on January 18. More than 10 thousand volunteers joined her, who allocated more than 62 thousand hours. They help Muscovites maintain a social distance, find their bearings and fill out the necessary documents.

#We areTogether is a unique self-help marathon that began in March 2020. Volunteers helped doctors, accepted applications in call centers, delivered food, medicine and basic necessities to Muscovites’ homes. During the year, the action was supported by about 23 thousand people who completed more than 48 thousand applications. Almost 420 entrepreneurs and companies of the capital have become partners. Now a club has been opened on the basis of the Moscow headquarters of the #WeVmeste movement, the members of which exchange experience and work on new volunteer projects.

In July, the all-Russian forum “The health of the nation is the basis of Russia’s prosperity” was held in Moscow. Assistance was provided by 47 volunteers. They prepared badges, registered forum participants, and also answered their questions and helped to find their way. In addition, volunteers worked in the press center and accompanied the guests of the event.

On National Flag Day, August 22, Moscow volunteers handed out over 20 thousand tricolor ribbons and thematic stickers to the citizens and guests of the capital. Volunteers who gave festive symbols and good mood could be found at Pushkinskaya and Manezhnaya squares, Nikolskaya Street, in Gorky Park and Zaryadye, near the Bolshoi Theater and in other popular places in the city.

About 300 volunteers of the capital from August 26 to September 5 took part in the organization and holding of the International military music festival “Spasskaya Tower”, which took place on Red Square. They devoted over 10 thousand hours to this. Volunteers helped with the seating of the audience, informed and coordinated the guests in the stands, and accompanied the media representatives. Also, an important function of city assistants is to check QR codes of festival visitors.

The most important event in the summer of 2021 for creative Muscovites was the Russian Creativity Week, which was held from 26 to 29 August. The event was assisted by 122 volunteers who participated in the work of the business zone and press center, lecture halls and tents, were engaged in navigation and information, carried out thermometry of visitors and checked QR codes at the entrance.
