Detectives investigating a report of an attempted abduction in Waltham Forest have concluded their investigation.
Police were informed by a teenage girl that at approximately 08:30hrs on Wednesday, 16 June, she was approached by a man in a car on North Countess Road, E17.
Officers have carried out extensive enquiries in the area and are satisfied that no offences have taken place.
Detective Superintendent Jodie Tuff, said: “Every allegation involving a child is always a matter of serious concern, and we acknowledge the interest and emotions they can elicit.
“We have worked closely with partners and the community to review the information that was passed to us, and have kept the family updated throughout.
“Following a thorough investigation over recent days, we are now of the view that no crime was committed.
“I would always encourage anyone with concerns to speak with officers, or in an emergency, call 999.”
