In 2021, the Fête de la science celebrates its 30th anniversary. This anniversary edition will take place from October 1 to 11 in mainland France and New Caledonia, and from November 5 to 22 in Corsica, overseas and internationally.

For 30 years, the Fête de la science has been an unmissable event for all audiences: families, schools, students, amateurs or science enthusiasts. Each year, it brings together more than one million visitors around 6,000 free events in 2,500 places throughout France.

In recent months, the health crisis has demonstrated the indispensable role of science in analyzing, understanding and effectively responding to the Covid-19 epidemic. The 2021 edition of the festival thus stands out, more than ever, as the decisive meeting point for bringing science and society together and developing an essential bond of trust.

Scientific discovery in all formats

For its 30th anniversary, the Fête de la science has chosen the theme of surprise and the emotion of discovery (“Eureka!”). Scientific personalities will thus be able to share with the public their daily life, scientific attitude, work and moments of discovery.

Chloé Nabédian, 2021 godmother committed to global warming

Journalist Chloé Nabédian presents the weather reports for 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on France 2 and participates in special editions of the editorial staff. Since 2017, she has also collaborated with the United Nations with the World Meteorological Organization who chose him to represent France in a major campaign aimed at raising public awareness against climate change.

Live science in everyday life

The daily meeting ” Live Science »Is back with a new formula hosted in particular by Fred Courant and Elodie Chabrol, live every day from October 1 to 10 from 5.30 pm to 7.30 pm. On the program: a large 45-minute interactive quiz and talks with scientists and engineers.

Scientific discovery also available in comics

For the sixth consecutive year, a book specially published for the Fête de la science is being offered, in particular in partnership with the group Science for all of the National Publishing Union (SNE). This book brings together 10 subjects studied by doctoral students and presented in the form of comics.
