From ancient settlements to renovation programs

Mitino can be called a fairly young district of Moscow. The village of the same name became part of the capital in 1985, and massive development began here in the 1990s. However, the area has an ancient history. According to archaeologists, the first human sites appeared here at the end of the 3rd – the beginning of the 2nd millennium BC. Rivers full of fish and forests full of game attracted ancient people. Later, the tribes of Vyatichi and Krivichi settled in these places. As a legacy to subsequent generations, they left numerous burial mounds and settlements.

Today 12 monuments of archaeological heritage, reminiscent of the ancient inhabitants, can be seen in landscape park “Mitino”… In 2018 it was opened after improvement… Experts have overhauled and modernized three archaeological pavilions, and now there is a school for a young archaeologist.

By the way, a detailed excursion with a description of historical monuments is published on the portal “Get to know Moscow”… Walking through the recreation area, everyone can see the Spas-Tushinsky burial mounds of the XI-XIII centuries and study the life of the ancient Slavs.

If you go back six centuries, to 1817, you can learn about the next important stage in the development of the territory. Residents of Ruza near Moscow began to move here, who were engaged in the restoration of Moscow after the fire of 1812. Gradually, the village grew: in 1879 in Novobratsevskoye (a microdistrict, which is now part of Mitin) a textile factory “Victory of Labor” appeared, a workers’ settlement was formed.

The houses built later for local residents were included in the renovation program. 2.4 thousand people will receive new apartments… In the spring of this year, the settlement of the first new building on Parkovaya Street began.

In addition to housing construction, the district’s social infrastructure is being systematically developed so that the townspeople can receive the necessary services near the house. So, in 2016, a center of public services was opened in Novotushinsky passage. And in the district, a program of a new standard of polyclinics is being implemented. This year, a major overhaul of branch No. 3 of polyclinic No. 180 on Pyatnitskoe highway has begun. By the end of 2023, work will also begin at Branch No. 4 on Dubravnaya Street. Renovation awaits the building of children’s polyclinic number 140, located at the addresses: Mitinskaya street, house 34 and Angelov pereulok, house 9, building 1.

On the ground and underground

In the 1990s, when the next massive stage of settlement of the area began, it became clear that it was necessary to develop the transport infrastructure. The stations, conceived back in the 1990s, were built two decades later. The Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line came to the region only in 2009: two stations were opened – Volokolamskaya and Mitino. In 2012, the passengers were received by the Pyatnitskoe highway.

In 2019, the station MCD-2 “Kursko-Rizhsky” Volokolamskaya was opened for passengers. It was built specifically for launch Moscow central diameters… Changing from it to the station of the same name on the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya line takes only a few minutes.

From jogging to biathlon

For many people, not only social infrastructure and transport accessibility are important, but also the conditions for sports. In addition to green areas, where residents of Mitin can have an active vacation, new sports facilities are also appearing in the district. So, in June, the construction of a large sports complex “New Star” was completed on Baryshikhe Street. It is planned to start work before the end of the summer. It will host year-round training in biathlon, handball, cross-country skiing and orienteering.

The building with an area of 8.8 thousand square meters is equipped with a shooting range, a gym and a games room. A street training track will appear nearby. Tennis, mini-football, volleyball, badminton and general physical training will be held in the universal playing hall.

Students of city sports schools, including sports schools of the Olympic reserve No. 102 (biathlon, cross-country skiing, orienteering), No. 101 Tushino (badminton, handball) and others, will be able to train in the Novaya Zvezda center. Also, the sports complex can be visited by everyone.

Future doctors and journalists

In addition to sports, young residents of Mitino have many other opportunities for development. There are 11 educational complexes in the district, where children can not only study the main program, but also get acquainted with modern professions. School No. 1358 has been running school television for more than five years. Students learn the basics of journalism and implement their own projects.

School No. 1538 participates in the pre-professional education project “Engineering class in a Moscow school”. Already 61 graduates of the school entered the Moscow State University named after M.V. Lomonosov, MIREA – Russian Technological University, Higher School of Economics, Moscow State Technical University named after N.E. Bauman and other leading universities. And at school No. 1564 there is a class under the project “Medical class in a Moscow school”, where future doctors are trained. In addition, the priority area of the school is the in-depth study of mathematics and computer science.

For children who want to be creative, works art school № 13 named after I.F. Stravinsky… In 2014, a large-scale reconstruction of the building was completed. The school has three organ halls, which made it unique. The largest organ for a school made by specialists from Austria.
