What are the reinforced control measures?

Travelers from these countries are subject to enhanced control measures:

The reasons and categories of persons authorized to come from these different countries to France are restricted only to nationals, their spouses and children, and to nationals of the European Union or of a third country having their main residence in France.
The test system before boarding is reinforced: a negative PCR test of less than 36 hours (instead of 72 hours), or a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours accompanied by a negative antigen test of less than 24 hours are required to enter on the territory.
An antigen test is made systematic on arrival in France, before leaving the airport.
Each person from these countries is subject to quarantine for 10 days, decided by prefectural decree and accompanied by restrictions on exit times from the place of isolation.

10 day quarantine

Following theOpinion of the Covid-19 Scientific Council of April 16, 2021 [application / pdf – 1.7 MB] , 10 days of isolation are imposed on people from these countries on their arrival in France, at their home or in a place of accommodation adapted to health requirements. Proof of the place of isolation to certify the address and accessibility for control officers will be required before boarding, then checked on arrival in France. Isolation may also be carried out in a place of accommodation made available by the administration.

This quarantine is accompanied by restrictions on exit times (10-12 a.m.) from the place of isolation. Quarantine compliance checks will be carried out at home by the police or the national gendarmerie, accompanied by increased fines for non-compliance with isolation. In the event of non-compliance with this quarantine, a fine of € 1,000 is provided for, in the event of a repeat offense, it will be increased to € 1,500.

Note: The overriding reasons rule continues to apply for travel from or to the French Antilles.
