MIL-OSI Russia: In St. Petersburg, more than 9 thousand people visited the traveling exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society

In St. Petersburg, in the House of Officers of the Western Military District, a mobile exhibition of the Russian Geographical Society has completed its work. From April 15, it will be opened in Kaliningrad.

For two weeks the exhibition was visited by more than 9 thousand Petersburgers, guests of the city, servicemen of the garrison, formations and military units of the Western Military District, cadets of military universities, war and military service veterans.

They were able to see at the exhibition documents and artifacts about the contribution of representatives of the Russian Geographical Society to the study of the European part of Russia, the Urals, Siberia, the Far East, polar territories and other regions, as well as about outstanding researchers who have collected unique cartographic, geological and botanical collections.

The multimedia pavilion about the BK-31 armored boat attracted great attention of the guests of the exhibition. Also, the visitors were not left indifferent by the gallery “Keeping the Family Warmth”, dedicated to the wives of Soviet commanders and military leaders, based on previously not exhibited family photos, fragments of memories.

In total, the exhibition will operate in 20 cities of Russia.
