Appreciation for the work of Children’s Services Help and Protection teams during Covid has continued to flood in.
Parents, carers and professionals have been united in their praise of staff who have made sure the pandemic hasn’t prevented them from working with the most vulnerable children and families.
Children’s Services has a visible presence in the city’s communities with Family Hubs and social work offices remaining open.
And the dedication shown has sparked a number of compliments from parents, carers and service users such as:
“Thank you massively for probably being the best social worker I’ve had in 5 years. I have no idea how you do the hours you do and stay sane.”
“He goes above and beyond in every correspondence. I feel that I wouldn’t have got through the last few weeks, without
him. His continuous support and advice have got me through an incredibly tough time.”
And this from a family to their social worker:
“Thank you so much for all you have done over the last year. You are so respected and appreciated in our house.”
There has also been an appreciation from other professionals like this from a headteacher to the Family Hub they work closely with:
“I would like to thank you to you and your colleagues in the Family Hub for their ongoing dedication and support for children at our school. I know that when this is all over you will have contributed to ensuring that many of our most vulnerable children are able to return to school better prepared than they may well have done otherwise.”
Cllr Pat Seaman, Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, said: “It’s so nice to see all the positive comments. I know they reflect the incredible work all of Children’s Services staff, not just those on the frontline, have done throughout the pandemic to make sure the most vulnerable children and families are still getting the support and kindness they need.”
