A woman who was fatally stabbed in Lambeth on Sunday has been named as 26-year-old Azaria Williams.
Police were called to an address in Clapham Road, SW9 at 21:10hrs on Sunday, 27 December following reports of a disturbance.
Officers and London Ambulance Service attended and found a woman who had been stabbed. Despite the efforts of the emergency services, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Azaria’s family is being supported by specialist officers.
Detectives from the Met’s Specialist Crime Command (Homicide) are investigating.
A 29-year-old man was arrested at the scene. He was charged with murder and appeared in custody at Croydon Magistrates’ Court today. He is next due to appear at the Old Bailey tomorrow, Thursday, 31 December.
