The Shanghai Sharks defeated the Nanjing Monkey Kings 110-83 in the 25th round of the Chinese Basketball Association (CBA) league here on Wednesday to enjoy their fifth victory in a row.
After upsetting defending champion Guangdong 117-92 in the previous round, Shanghai started the game with a 27-15 lead in the first quarter. Nanjing was limited to 34 points before halftime, while Shanghai had 50.
The game was still lop-sided after the interval as Nanjing only had a shot accuracy of 39.5 percent in the whole game. Arnett Moultrie’s game-high 34 points and 17 rebounds were not enough for the team to avoid their fifth straight loss.
Xiralijan Muhtar and Wan Shengwei were the other two Nanjing players to score double digits as they contributed 20 and 12, respectively. These three players combined for 66 points as rested nine players had 17 for Nanjing.
Five players of Shanghai had double digits. Marcus Denmon led the team with 26 points, while Jimmer Fredette had 25.
