The Environmental Protection Department today announced it recorded 52 convictions for pollution offences in November.

Nineteen convictions were under the Public Cleansing & Prevention of Nuisances Regulation and another 19 were under the Waste Disposal Ordinance.

There were also eight convictions for air pollution, four for noise pollution and two for water pollution.

The heaviest fine was $20,000 each given to two companies and one person for importing controlled waste without a permit and depositing waste unlawfully.
