On December 29, a meeting was held at the EMERCOM of Russia under the leadership of the Deputy Head of the EMERCOM of Russia Pavel Baryshev to sum up the results of the activities of the rescue military units of the department for 2020 and setting tasks for 2021.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the central office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry and leaders of the rescue military units.

“This is a jubilee, difficult year, and it is connected, among other things, with the pandemic. You are all participants in those events that are taking place around the country. New Year’s holidays are ahead, and you must be fully prepared to accomplish tasks, ”P. Baryshev said at the meeting.

Currently, each federal district has one rescue center, two rescue centers in the Far Eastern Federal District, and none in the North Caucasus Federal District. The total staffing of rescue centers is about 7 thousand people. This year, 270 units of equipment were supplied to the armament of the rescue centers, including a significant renewal of the park of engineering vehicles.

In 2020, the rescue centers of the EMERCOM of Russia were involved over 2.8 thousand times, assistance was provided to 850 cases, which is more than 30% more than in the same period last year.

Over the current year, the pyrotechnic divisions of the Russian Emergencies Ministry discovered, neutralized and destroyed over 34 thousand explosive objects, more than 28.5 thousand cartridges, cleared an area of ​​147 hectares.

To date, in order to prevent the spread of a new coronavirus infection in the territories of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation, units of rescue military formations have disinfected premises with a total area of ​​over 27 million square meters, 15 thousand socially significant facilities, paved roads over 10 thousand kilometers, 49 thousand units technology.

Also, work was carried out on the legal regulation of the use of rescue centers of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, next year this work will be continued.

In 2021, the improvement of the system of using the forces and means of the rescue centers of the EMERCOM of Russia will continue. It is also planned to continue staffing rescue centers with qualified personnel and high-tech equipment.

At the end of the event, the meeting participants discussed problematic issues and ways to solve them, as well as tasks for 2021. In general, rescue centers are ready to perform tasks to protect the population and territories, economic facilities and infrastructure from emergencies.
