Active citizens voted for significant projects implemented in the city. More than 130 thousand people expressed their opinion.

Participants in the Active Citizen project voted for the best construction and restoration projects implemented in Moscow over the past three years. In total, 137,973 people expressed their opinion. The head told about it Department of urban planning policy of the city of Moscow Sergey Levkin.

“Buildings and metro stations, stadiums, roads, theaters built and renovated in the capital over the past three years and won the Best Implemented Construction Project” competition were presented in the voting. “Active Citizens” assessed the winners in five nominations: “Subway and Railway Facilities”, “Sports Facilities”, “Road Infrastructure”, “Cultural Objects” and “Objects of Restoration”, ”noted Sergei Levkin.

In the nomination “Subway and railway transport facilities” the leading position was taken by the section of the Sokolnicheskaya metro line from the station “Salaryevo” to “Kommunarka” – it got 30.57 percent of the vote. The construction of the metro to Kommunarka has significantly improved transport accessibility for Muscovites working in the settlements of Moskovsky and Sosensky. The length of the new section was 10 kilometers. The second and third places in the nomination were taken by the Belomorskaya metro station of the Zamoskvoretskaya line – 25.58 percent of the vote and the section from the Pobedy Park to Ramenki station – 18.88 percent.

Belomorskaya was opened at the end of 2018, which eased the transport situation in the north-west of the city, and the section from Pobedy Park to Ramenok unloaded the Arbatsko-Pokrovskaya, Sokolnicheskaya and Kaluzhsko-Rizhskaya metro lines, as well as transport hubs near stations “Yugo-Zapadnaya” and “Prospekt Vernadsky”.

Further, the votes were distributed as follows: the section from the station “Michurinsky Prospect” to the station “Rasskazovka” was chosen by 16.35 percent, and the depot “Rudnevo” – by 8.62 percent of the voters.

The Big Sports Arena of the Luzhniki Sports Complex took the first place in the category “Sports Facilities” – 27.71 percent of the votes were cast for it. After renovation for the 2018 FIFA World Cup, the arena has become the largest stadium in the country. In accordance with FIFA requirements, the building can accommodate 81 thousand spectators.

The Palace of Gymnastics of Irina Viner-Usmanova (27.20 percent of the vote) and VTB Arena – the Central Stadium “Dynamo” named after Lev Yashin (26.88 percent of the vote) follow with a narrow margin. Irina Viner-Usmanova’s Gymnastics Palace is a multifunctional arena with an area of ​​two thousand square meters and a hall for four thousand spectators. The Lev Yashin Dynamo Stadium is equipped with modern multimedia systems, it allows you to hold football matches for more than 25 thousand spectators, as well as hold concerts for 33 thousand listeners.

Also in this nomination, the multifunctional swimming center of the Luzhniki Olympic complex received 14.69 percent of the votes and the La Salute sports and recreation complex 3.52 percent.

In the “Road Infrastructure” nomination, the first place went to the section of the North-Eastern Expressway from Entuziastov Highway to Izmailovskoye Highway, which received 26.33 percent of the vote. The new road redistributed traffic flows between the two highways, as well as between Shchelkovskoye Highway and Budyonny Avenue.

In second place is the New Karamyshevsky Bridge as part of the North-West Expressway (16.52 percent of the votes), which made it possible to reduce traffic jams in this place by 2.5 times. The third line is occupied by Severnaya Rokada, the section of the Moscow – St. Petersburg highway (16.47 percent of the votes). Thanks to her, the movement from north to east of Moscow is organized in such a way that you can avoid entering the city center.

Another 16.19 percent of votes were cast by “active citizens” for multi-level transport interchanges at the intersection of the Moscow Ring Road with the Besedinskoye Highway, 14.16 percent – for the reconstruction of a railway crossing with the construction of an overpass at the 18th kilometer of the Kiev direction of the Moscow Railway and 10.34 percent – for the reconstruction of the Shchelkovskoye highway from the Moscow Ring Road to the Garden Ring.

The Cosmos Pavilion at VDNKh topped the rating in the category “Objects of Restoration” – 41.01 percent of users voted for it. After a large-scale restoration, it opened on April 12, 2018, on Cosmonautics Day. In just 14 months, it was restored to its historical appearance, the decor elements were restored and turned into a modern exhibition area.

The Grotto pavilion of the Kuskovo estate museum (13 percent of votes), which has retained its unique decoration from the 18th century, and the ensemble of the Miussky tram depot (12.86 percent of the votes), built in the style of industrial neo-Gothic, are far behind the leader. The rest of the contenders for victory received less than 10 percent of the votes: 9.97 – at the historic building of the State Academic Maly Theater, 8.41 – at the locomotive depot ensemble of the Moscow-Vindavskaya railway station Podmoskovnaya, 7.88 – at the Kekusheva mansion on Ostozhenka, 3, 24 – at the palace of boyar Troyekurov, 2.67 – at the residential ensemble “Theater House” and finally 0.96 – at the estate of E.V. In the nomination “Objects of culture” the first was the natural and landscape park “Zaryadye”, which received 42.29 percent of the votes of “active citizens”. Plants collected in the park represent all the variety of climatic zones of Russia.

The second place was taken by the city square of the Moscow City business center – it is a walking area and a concert and entertainment area with a stage and an amphitheater. This place was preferred by 16.56 percent of voting participants.

In third place is the Technograd innovation and educational complex at VDNKh with 12.03 percent of the vote. It presents the best world and domestic educational programs in more than 40 most demanded professions in the labor market and professions of the future.

In addition, Muscovites gave their votes for the cultural and production facilities of Mosfilm (11.84 percent), the Moscow Concert Hall Zaryadye (11.57 percent) and the Solzhenitsyn House of Russian Abroad (5.71 percent).

Project for online voting on urban development issues “Active Citizen” started to be implemented in 2014. Since that time, more than 4.8 million people have joined it. Participants determine which streets, courtyards and park areas need to be improved, how city polyclinics, libraries, public service centers should work, and also choose events for festivals and holidays. Since the launch of the project, Muscovites have taken part in more than 4.8 thousand votes, as a result of which most of the decisions were implemented by the city. In June 2020, the website of the Active Citizen project appeared online map– on it you can see the changes that have occurred in the city as a result of the voting. In total, more than 1.6 thousand objects have already been plotted on the diagram.
