WASHINGTON, D.C. — U.S. Congresswoman Joyce Beatty (OH-03) issued the following statement ahead of the anticipated vote in the U.S. House of Representatives on the Caring for Americans with Supplemental Help Act of 2020, H.R. 9051:
“After seven months of distraction, distortion, and denials, the White House has finally come to its senses and conceded that American workers, families, and small businesses are hurting and in need of much greater assistance than the Trump Administration previously cared to admit. That is why I call on all Congressional Republicans to join with Congressional Democrats and pass the Caring for Americans with Supplemental Help Act to increase stimulus payments immediately so that our constituents can get the help they so desperately need.”
If enacted, H.R. 9051 would increase the value of the second round of Economic Impact Payments from $600 to $2,000 per eligible member of the household. Additionally, the bill would provide that the second round of Economic Impact Payments will include non-child dependents and that non-child dependents will be included in the first round of Economic Impact Payments as well.
