The government continues to provide assistance to residents of the Irkutsk region after the floods in 2019. More than 3.2 million rubles will be allocated to compensate for tuition fees for college students from areas affected by the disaster. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Funding will come from the reserve fund. The money will be received by 86 students from the lists provided by the regional leadership.

Thus, the total amount of federal funding will now amount to more than 6.2 million rubles, and the number of recipients of state support will grow to 153 people.

In September 2019, the Government approved a program for the restoration of housing, communications facilities, social, transport, utilities and energy infrastructure in the area affected by the flood. Separate sections are devoted to the provision of social support to affected citizens. A number of ministries are responsible for the implementation of the program’s activities, including the Ministry of Construction, the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Emergencies, the Ministry of Health, and the Ministry of Agriculture.
