A festive online program will be held on the Internet sites of cultural centers and libraries from December 31 to January 9. It will be possible to visit virtual Christmas trees, master classes and performances.

Libraries and cultural centers of the Moscow Department of Culture invite everyone to have a fun and interesting New Year holidays. From December 31 to January 9, videos will be posted on social media accounts of institutions, as well as on their YouTube channels. These are recordings, live broadcasts of meetings with Russian writers, Christmas concerts, master classes and performances.

The first events will be held on New Year’s Eve – December 31. Beginning at 18:00.

Cultural Center “Kievsky” invites you to watch the online concert “Carnival Night” live. The broadcast will take place on the network “Instagram”… The art groups of the cultural center, as well as artists of the Imperial Russian Ballet under the direction of Gediminas Taranda, will perform in front of the audience.

And on the pages of the cultural center “Druzhba” in social networks “In contact with”, “Instagram” and Facebook at the same time, adults and children will be welcome at the Zoom Fir-Trees. This is the name of the film, shot on the Zoom platform by the theater studio “Ordinary Miracle”. All scenes for the picture were recorded during online conferences of the members of the creative team. “Christmas Trees Zoom” is a kind New Year story about a girl Nastya. She has a cherished dream that she is trying to fulfill. The audience of the online premiere will find out what Nastya has wondered, whether the advice of friends will help her and whether her wish will come true.

On January 2, Library No. 259 will hold a virtual meeting for its readers with Victoria Zhuravleva, a writer and author of a book for children “The History of Ciphers”. She will share with readers the secrets of how to make a creative writing notebook. And the library staff will tell you about the dates of the New Year in different countries. The event will take place on the YouTube channel of the library… Beginning at 16:00.

On January 5, the Severny Cultural Center will organize a creative master class. During the lesson, participants will be offered to make a holiday card using the scrapbooking technique. This is a kind of handicraft that allows you to create cards and photo albums. In this case, various materials are used – cardboard, paper, lace, rhinestones, ribbons, and more. At the master class, they will not only help to make an original gift, but also introduce you to the peculiarities of working in this technique and its varieties. The lesson will start at 15:00. Participants are expected on the pages of the cultural center “Severny” in social networks “In contact with” and “Instagram”.

On the eve of Christmas, January 6, adults and children on your YouTube channel library number 252 is waiting. At 19:00 the next issue of the book blog will take place there. On this day, it will be dedicated to Russian Christmas stories written by the classics of Russian literature in the 19th-20th centuries. On Christmas Eve, viewers will remember the story “The Night Before Christmas” by Nikolai Gogol. In addition, one can hear the good stories of Nikolai Leskov, Leo Tolstoy, Leonid Andreev, Anton Chekhov. The presenters will introduce the works in the spirit of the Gothic tradition by Vasily Zhukovsky, Alexander Pushkin and Alexei Remizov. The issue will also focus on Soviet New Year’s stories for children, such as “The Christmas tree in Sokolniki” by Vladimir Bonch-Bruevich and “Chuk and Gek” by Arkady Gaidar. They will also talk about Christmas stories by contemporary authors. These are “Kitten of the Lord God” by Lyudmila Petrushevskaya and “Girl with Chinese lighters” by Sergei Lukyanenko.

The next day, January 7, the Akademichesky Culture and Leisure Center will hold a lecture on traditional folk culture “Christmas Nativity Scene”. It will tell about the traditions of celebrating the Nativity of Christ in Russia. The lecture will begin live in the institution’s instagram account at 16:00.

The final event of the holiday online program will take place on January 9th on the Zoom platform. The Meridian Center for Culture and Arts will organize a master class on watercolor sketching (the art of creating a quick drawing). The event will be hosted by Marina Lifar. Beginning at 16:00. Portal “Online. Bibliogorod ”was created by the Moscow Directorate for the Development of Cultural Centers of the Department of Culture. This electronic resource with access to information content of libraries and cultural centers went live in April.

The portal menu consists of six sections, such as “Online Activities”, “Books”, “Thematic Libraries”, “Video”, “Contests and Promotions”, “Territory of Writers”. On the site you can read works for free, watch performances, concerts and lectures, take part in master classes.
