One and a half thousand emergency teams will be on duty around the clock.

City services will work in an enhanced mode during the New Year holidays – from December 31 to January 10, said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for housing and communal services and improvement Petr Biryukov.

“On the eve of the New Year, all enterprises and companies of the municipal economy complex were transferred to an enhanced mode of operation, a round-the-clock duty of responsible persons, operational and maintenance personnel was organized,” he noted. “Measures have been taken to ensure the uninterrupted functioning of life support systems and municipal facilities”.

One and a half thousand emergency teams will be on duty around the clock, ready to promptly leave in the event of an emergency situation at the city’s life support facilities.

“Control over the operation of power grid facilities, compliance with fire safety measures and anti-terrorist protection of the utility and fuel and energy infrastructure has been strengthened,” added Pyotr Biryukov. “2.5 thousand emergency power supply sources and three mobile boiler houses have been prepared, reserves of reserve fuel have been formed”.

The head of the municipal economy complex noted that during the holidays, special attention will be paid to cleaning roads, pedestrian zones, winter infrastructure and courtyards. The work involves the required number of janitors and manual cleaning brigades, as well as equipment and means of small-scale mechanization.
