MIL OSI Translation. Region: Russian Federation –

From 1 to 10 January 2021, the Decade of Sports and Health will traditionally be held in all regions of the country.

The event is held annually, the organizer is the Ministry of Sports with the participation of the executive authorities of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation in the field of physical culture and sports. The main task is to attract as many people as possible, including people with disabilities, to physical culture and sports, to increase activity during the long New Year holidays.

“This is an excellent sports festival that has been held for over a decade and is very popular throughout the country. It doesn’t matter how old, what kind of physical fitness a person has, the main thing is a great desire to go out with family, friends, skate or assemble a hockey team. For example, in Sevastopol the New Year’s Race of Promises and drone racing competitions will be organized, in Karelia there will be a Nordic walking relay and a football competition on the snow, and in Tyva – an open hockey tournament. This time, all sports events will be held taking into account the restrictions that apply in the regions, and exclusively in the open air, which requires a new reality. I think outdoor championships will only be an advantage for the upcoming holiday. I invite everyone to spend the holidays with health benefits and prolong the New Year’s mood. Happy starts everyone! ” – said Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko.

As part of the Decade, the regions will host various sports events, including sports days, championships, championships, ice hockey tournaments, bandy and other sports. In addition, sports events, festivals, family starts, combined relay races, mass skating, skiing and sledding will be organized.

Thousands of sports facilities will be available everywhere for sports fans: ski resorts, ice skating rinks, outdoor sports grounds.

It is estimated that the Decade of 2021 will be attended by about 5 million people.
