The replacement takes into account a single urban style.

In Moscow, 70 percent of obsolete noise barriers have been replaced in two years. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Housing and Communal Services and Improvement Petr Biryukov.

He recalled that in 2019, the city began a program to replace screens that were installed more than 20 years ago and have lost their properties over the years.

“In total, 470 thousand square meters of structures will be replaced over the three years of the program. Over the past two years, the specialists of the municipal services complex have already updated 320 thousand square meters of screens, including those on the Kiev highway, Zhivopisny Bridge and Marshal Zhukov Avenue, ”said Pyotr Biryukov.

The Deputy Mayor said that the unified urban style was taken into account when replacing the noise barriers.

“Panels are used only of gray color and a certain shape, the screens installed along the Moscow Central Circle are made in the same style. The uniform design will simplify the future repair of noise protection screens and reduce the cost of their maintenance, ”- said the head of the city complex.

He stressed that noise protection screens are an important element of modern urban infrastructure. Structures absorb unnecessary noise near places of mass stay of people, public transport stops, parks, squares and densely populated areas. The new panels meet all GOST requirements and will allow for maximum noise absorption to ensure the comfort and safety of Muscovites.

Pyotr Biryukov also said that city services regularly wash soundproof screens and repair structures that have been damaged as a result of an accident or other incidents.
