The round table was organized by the Irkutsk youth foundation of human rights defenders “Juventa”. Olga Mankhaeva, head of the psychological service of the Main Directorate of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Irkutsk Region, employees of the Penitentiary Institute, SIZO-1 and Angarsk VK took part in the discussion together with public figures and representatives of the subjects of child crime prevention.

Employees of the Juventa Foundation presented the results of the School of Future Men project, which was implemented during the year in SIZO-1, Angarsk VK and a special school in Angarsk using a grant from the President of the Russian Federation for the development of civil society. The adolescents held in the colony and the pre-trial detention center attended trainings on constructive communication and responsible parenting, adherence to healthy personal boundaries. To restore and strengthen the relationship of teenagers with their families, Juventa employees provided consultations for parents, provided financial support for parents’ visits on dates, and helped families exchange video letters. Employees of the GUFSIN institutions underwent trainings to increase the level of emotional and conflictological competence, learned the most effective technologies for resocialization work with minors.

As a result of the work of the School of Future Men project, the head of the Juventa Foundation, Marianna Sadovnikova, presented letters of gratitude to the teams of the Angarsk VK and SIZO-1 and personally to the educator of the department of educational work with convicts in SIZO-1 Alexei Sharov. Employees of the GUFSIN institutions noted that the project made a huge contribution to the general educational work and psychological support carried out with minors in penitentiary institutions, and expressed the hope that cooperation would continue.

At the round table, Olga Milyukhanova, a senior psychologist of the psychological support department of the criminal executive inspectorate of the GUFSIN, presented her experience in the prevention of socially negative phenomena among conditionally convicted minors. During the game training session participants learned about the skills of constructive resolution of crisis situations.
