In the foyer of the House of Officers of the Novosibirsk Garrison, a photo exhibition of front-line postcards “New Year during the Great Patriotic War” has opened.

The exposition presents New Year’s postcards from 1941 to 1945, the illustrations of which combine the traditional theme with the fighting spirit of the Red Army soldiers. Despite the hard times of the war, the celebration of the New Year was not forgotten even on the front lines. Soldiers and officers symbolically congratulated each other on the holiday and wished the New Year would bring them the end of the war and new victories. The rear service of the Red Army took care of sending a large number of postcards and envelopes to the troops so that soldiers and officers could congratulate their families and friends on the holiday right from the front.

Together with the front postcards, the photo exhibition presents the history of the New Year celebrations in the rear and at the front of the Red Army soldiers in 1941-1945.
