FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE December 21, 2020 Contact: Kate Stotesbery 202-494-4620 With So Much Virus & Need, Relief Package is Too Little, Too Late Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Lloyd Doggett (D-TX), Chairman of the House Ways & Means Health Subcommittee, released this statement on the upcoming House vote today on the COVID relief package and government funding: “With so much virus and so much need, this 5,593-page, complex bill really is too little, too late! Modest help for many who are struggling, important funding for vaccine distribution, but some sorry provisions and many omissions. This results not from a failure by ‘Congress,’ but specifically from a prolonged refusal by Republicans in Congress to negotiate and their rejection of the amount and types of assistance necessary to meet growing needs. Hopefully, we at least are providing the limited assistance required by those most in need to make it until we have a new, humane Administration.” ### Follow Congressman Doggett Facebook: | Twitter: @RepLloydDoggett  | Instagram: @RepLloydDoggett
