From the emergency to the intensive care unit to the inpatient corona department: a delegation from the Zug government council consisting of Economics Director Silvia Thalmann-Gut, Andreas Hostettler, Director of the Interior, and Health Director Martin Pfister took a look at the tense situation in the cantonal hospital on Sunday morning. There are currently 29 people in hospital care due to Covid-19 disease, three of them in intensive care. The government council members can be guided through the various departments and all processes explained to themselves. In particular, they are looking for a conversation with the treatment team and the nursing staff. “What the medical staff has been doing here every day for weeks is impressive,” says Health Director Martin Pfister. “Our thanks go to all those who take care of the patients under difficult circumstances during these challenging times.”
The Zug Cantonal Hospital is pleased about the visit of the government council. «Since the beginning of the corona pandemic we have of course been in lively exchange with the cantonal authorities. Getting a picture of the situation personally on site, however, sharpens awareness and mutual understanding, ”explains Dr. Matthias Winistörfer. The hospital director emphasizes the tense situation that has existed for weeks in the corona department and the intensive care unit. «The workload and strain in the last few weeks has been great. We hope that the vaccination will bring about a significant calming down. ” The preparations for the vaccinations in the canton of Zug are in full swing.
