Source: Swiss Kanton Nidwalden News in German21. December 2020 The government council has approved the implementation project for sections 2 and 3 of the renovation of Wiesenbergstrasse. A property loan of CHF 11.4 million is submitted to the district administrator. A construction period of around five years is expected, and renovation work has been carried out on Wiesenbergstrasse, which connects Dallenwil with the hamlets of Wiesenberg and Wirzweli, since 2017. The first stage of the repairs between Lourdesgrotte and Fulplattencheer has been completed so far, the last minor works are being carried out. In parallel to the ongoing implementation on site, the planning for sections 2 and 3 between Fulplattencheer and Wiesenberg has been advanced. The canton made every effort to take the concerns of the offenders into account again as far as possible. A construction period is planned from May 2021 to October 2025, with work only taking place in the summer half of the year and access to the properties outside the construction period (Monday to Friday from 7 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.) Four objections were received this September. All of them could be cleaned up without any major changes to the project. The government council has now approved the implementation project and approved a property loan of CHF 11.4 million for the district administrator. The costs of around 15 million for Sections 2 and 3 forecast in an earlier project phase are therefore significantly lower. With Stage 1, which is coming to an end, it is also becoming apparent that the loan of 7.2 million francs can be undercut by around half a million. However, obligations in this regard are only entered into with the approval of the loan by the district administrator. Furthermore, the first purchase right contracts for the necessary land acquisition are discussed with the landowners. About the project The Wiesenbergstrasse from Dallenwil to the canton border of Obwalden at the Ächerli pass and the engineering structures are in a very poor condition. The security is seriously affected. Therefore, the Wiesenbergstrasse is being repaired over a length of 5.3 kilometers. The project will be implemented in several stages until – as of today – 2042. When the renovation started three years ago, the canton assumed total costs of around 40 million francs. For all five sections, a permit with a public plan and a financing decision by the district administrator is necessary. By merging sections, the construction time can be shortened.
