At the Adanak Combined Arms Range in Dagestan, a special tactical exercise was held with servicemen of the Caspian Flotilla Marine Corps (CFL).
According to the plan of the exercise, the personnel of the unit of multiple launch rocket systems (MLRS) “Grad” made a march to the area of reserve firing positions. The convoy of military vehicles on the route through the mountain gorge was accompanied by reconnaissance groups of the combat escort on armored personnel carriers BTR-82A. On the march, the column was ambushed by a conditional enemy. The Marines repelled the attack with hand smoke grenades (RDG-2).
RDGs are designed to create short-term smoke curtains in a small area. In addition, RDGs are used to disorient and blind enemy firing points and small groups,
During the exercise, the scouts showed well-coordinated and confident actions in a situation as close as possible to combat. The servicemen quickly regrouped, took up a perimeter defense, suppressed the firing points of the simulated enemy and brought the main forces out of the fire.
More than 100 servicemen of the KFL marines took part in the exercise, about 30 units of weapons and military equipment were involved.
