The Fund for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic will be able to additionally finance priority investment projects in the Murmansk Region and the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District. The order was signed by Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

Novy Urengoy airport will be modernized in Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug. It is planned, in particular, to build a new air terminal with an area of ​​19.6 thousand square meters. m and to reconstruct the runways. According to the order, up to 3.73 billion rubles should be allocated for these purposes.

In the Murmansk region, additional investments will go to the development of the Kovdor mining and processing plant, which produces iron ore, apatite and baddeleyite concentrates. This will increase the plant’s capacity from 14.5 million to 19.5 million tons of ore per year and create more than 500 jobs. No more than 2 billion rubles will be allocated for this event.

The Far East and Arctic Development Fund is a state institution created to attract investment in industry and infrastructure. It provides businesses with long-term soft loans, independently finances important projects, and also provides consulting support to entrepreneurs.

The signed order will give an impetus to the growth of priority sectors of the economy, increase the level of employment in the regions and stimulate the socio-economic development of the Arctic.
