It was closed to prepare for the opening of new stations on the Big Circle Line – Karamyshevskaya and Mnevnikov.

On December 22, the section “CSKA” – “Business Center” of the Big Circle Line (BCL) will again be available to passengers. With the start of the metro, they will be able to use the stations “Horoshevskaya”, “Shelepikha” and “Delovoy Tsentr” BKL. It was planned that the site would open a day later.

The section “CSKA” – “Business Center” was closed so that specialists could prepare for the opening of new BCL stations – “Karamyshevskaya” and “Mnevnikov”. To integrate them with the existing metro network, passenger traffic was suspended.

After the opening of new stations on the western section of the BCL, almost 40 thousand Muscovites will be able to save up to 40 minutes on travel. At the neighboring stations of the Tagansko-Krasnopresnenskaya line, it will become much freer: Oktyabrskoe Pole will be unloaded by 28 percent, Shchukinskaya – by 11 percent, and Polezhaevskaya – by 26 percent. Passenger traffic at Khoroshevo station of the Moscow Central Ring will decrease by 24 percent.

In addition, since December 12, the traffic pattern on the Solntsevskaya metro line has changed. Now trains follow from Rasskazovka to Delovoy Tsentr station. Prior to the opening of new BCL stations, trains run from Savyolovskaya to Delovoy Tsentr.

Which BCL stations are planning to open in 2021 70 kilometers and 31 stations: how the BCL is built

BCL is the largest project in the history of the Moscow metro construction. Its length will be 70 kilometers. The new subway ring will unite the peripheral areas of the city and cut travel time in half. There will be 31 stations and three depots on the Big Circle Line. Now there are nine stations on the line. Three more are planned to be ready for opening by the end of the year. These are Mnevniki and Karamyshevskaya in the western section, as well as Elektrozavodskaya in the northeastern section of the BCL.

A large circular line will connect existing and prospective radial lines up to 10 kilometers from the Circle Line. This will unload stations in the center of Moscow. In addition, technical solutions are introduced in advance, which will allow connecting new radii to the BCL.
