The opportunity to get a Michelin star can be an additional incentive for the development of the restaurant business in the capital after the pandemic.

Next year, Moscow will become the first city in the post-Soviet space to receive the most famous restaurant rating in the world – Michelin. Told about it on his page on the social network “Instagram” Sergei Sobyanin. The Moscow Mayor noted that the opportunity to get a Michelin star could be a good additional incentive for the restaurant business after the pandemic.


Sergei Sobyanin also said that after the end of the pandemic, the capital will resume holding holidays and festivals, and Moscow will once again become a hospitable city that receives millions of tourists.

Michelin Guide produced since 1900. It was originally positioned as a guide for traveling motorists. In 1926, the guide began awarding stars to gourmet restaurants, initially giving them only one star. Five years later, a hierarchy of zero, one, two and three stars was introduced, and in 1936 the ranking criteria were published.

Today, Michelin evaluates more than 30 thousand establishments around the world.
