At one of the ranges of the Amur Region, an exercise was held to eliminate the consequences of a conditional man-made accident on railway transport. The event took place as part of a special exercise by the emergency response unit of the combined arms army of the Eastern Military District (VVO).

Under the terms of the exercise, a hazardous chemical leak occurred on the railroad as a result of the derailment of the train. For the prompt elimination of the accident, it was decided to involve a combined detachment of the Air Defense Forces.

The servicemen were alerted and marched to the place of the conditional emergency. Upon arrival in the area, specialists of the radiation, chemical and biological protection troops (RKhBZ) carried out the necessary measurements and cordoned off the conditionally contaminated area of ​​the terrain.

In the practical part of the exercise, firefighters promptly eliminated the fire that had arisen, and the specialists of the RKhBZ protection carried out work to eliminate the spill of chemical substances and performed work to clean up the area. After the accident was eliminated and the hazardous substance was pumped out, the tank was separated from the railway platform and taken to a safe place. RCB intelligence specialists organized monitoring of the state of the environment.

To carry out the tasks, more than 300 servicemen were involved and about 40 pieces of equipment were involved, including bulldozers, a truck crane, modern special vehicles ARS-14KM and radiation and chemical reconnaissance vehicles BRDM-2RX.

The exercise showed a high degree of readiness and training of the emergency response squad of the Air Defense Forces to act as intended.
