The NA Chair saluted 96-year-old Hero of People’s Armed Forces Major Pham Van Ngu, who had excellent service during the national resistance war against the US.

She then visited and presented a gift to Vietnamese Heroic Mother Phan Thi Thau, whose husband and son laid down their lives during the country’s struggle for national independence and freedom.

During the visits, the top legislator extended her sincere greetings to the national contributors, while affirming that the Party and State always keep in mind the credit of predecessors and those who sacrificed their lives for the country’s independence and freedom and for the people’s happiness.

She wished the hosts good health and happiness, thus continuing establishing themselves as examples for their descendants to follow.

For his part, Major Pham Van Ngu expressed his thanks for the great care and support of the Party, State and local authorities over the past years.

He also pledged to continue encouraging his descendants to uphold the ancestors’ traditions and make further contributions to the development of Thua Thien Hue Province and the country in general.
