He extended his best wishes to the archbishop, Catholic dignitaries and followers, hoping they have a merry Christmas and happy new year.

The municipal leader spoke highly of Catholic leaders for encouraging their followers to comply with the Party’s guidelines and the state’s laws and policies.

Nen added that local Catholics had made an active contribution to the city’s achievements over the past year, especially in preventing the spread of Covid-19 and promoting socio-economic development.

He expected that in the new year Catholics in Ho Chi Minh City will continue to accompany the city government in making the city more prosperous.

For his part, Archbishop Nguyen Nang thanked the city government for facilitating local Catholics in the practise of their faith while affirming that members of the archdiocese will continue to make contributions to the city’s development.

On the same day, Deputy Head of the Central Commission for Mass Mobilisation Nguyen Hong Linh extended his Christmas greetings at the Phan Thiet Bishop’s Residence in Binh Thuan Province.
