The Centre for Health Protection today said it is investigating 85 additional COVID-19 cases, of which 78 are locally transmitted.

Twenty-seven of the local cases have unknown sources of infection.

Two more cases were detected at Shek Wing House at Shek Lei (II) Estate, while one more was identified at Yat Lai House at Yau Lai Estate and Block A of Ming Wah Dai Ha in Shau Kei Wan.

As the cases in these three premises involve residents from different units, the Government has published in the gazette a compulsory testing notice to require people who had been at these premises for more than two hours between November 25 and December 21 to undergo a COVID-19 nucleic acid test by December 26.

Meanwhile, the centre will distribute specimen collection bottles to residents of Lei Sang House at Lei Yue Mun Estate and Tak Tai Building in Tsuen Wan, where cases with unknown sources of infection from three different units were detected.

Other cases involve four related to Glow Spa & Salon in Central and one each to Ming Lai House at Choi Wan (II) Estate, Kwai Shing West Estate and Fung Nin Building in Tai Po.
