There will be Christmas and New Year collection day changes. During the week running up to Christmas, your bins will be collected one day earlier and collections due on New Year’s Day will be collected later. Please see table below for full details:

Normal collections resume from Tuesday 5 January 2021.

If you have more recycling than will fit in the blue bin, please place it neatly by the side of your bin on collection day in a cardboard box or a clear bag. We are unable to collect recycling in black bags.

Garden waste collections will be suspended between Tuesday 22 December and Friday 1 January 2021. Collections will resume as normal from Tuesday 5 January 2021.

Our bulky waste service will be suspended between Tuesday 29 December 2020 and Friday 8 January 2021. Collections will resume as normal from Tuesday 12 January 2021.

All of our car parks will be in full operation over the Christmas and New year period, with the exception of Gloucester Green car park.

Gloucester Green Car Park will close at midnight on 24 December 2020 and will remain closed through Christmas day. The car park opens for business again at 7.30am on 26 December 2020. No vehicles will be able to enter or exit the car park during this period.

We will not charge for parking in any of our car parks on Christmas Day, however, payments made in error will not be refunded. Our normal charges will recommence on 26 December 2020.

Oxford’s cemeteries will be open as normal during the Christmas period.

Christmas trees will be collected on your blue/brown bin collection day. You can leave your real and unadorned – lights, decorations and pots removed – Christmas tree next to your bins on your green/brown bin collection day (if you have a subscription) between 5 January until 29 January 2021 for recycling. Christmas trees with lights, decorations and pots still attached will not be collected, as these items cannot be composted.

If you live in a flat with shared bins, or want to recycle your real tree sooner, you can take it to one of our 12 collection points located all over the city.

Christmas tree collection points are open throughout January 2021. The collection points are:
