On December 20, a friendly ice hockey match between the teams of the Ministry of Emergencies of Russia and the Ministry of Emergencies of the Republic of Belarus took place on Red Square. The event is timed to coincide with the 75th anniversary of the Great Victory and the 30th anniversary of the Russian emergency department.

The event was opened by the First Deputy Minister, the captain of the EMERCOM of Russia team Alexander Chupriyan, the Deputy Minister of the EMERCOM of the Republic of Belarus Anatoly Dolgolevets and the world champion, Honored Master of Sports Alexey Yashin.

“I hope that our two fraternal ministries will now make hockey more related,” A. Chupriyan noted.

The teams played three periods of 20 minutes each. Despite the fact that it was not professional athletes, but firefighters and rescuers, who took to the ice, the match turned out to be intense and exciting. A stubborn struggle ended with a score of 8: 4 in favor of EMERCOM of Russia. The winning team received a commemorative cup from the hands of A. Yashin.

The staff of the central office of the Russian Emergencies Ministry, cadets of departmental universities and cadets came to support the teams. An entertainment program was provided for the guests: a show orchestra of the Russian Emergencies Ministry performed, a New Year’s quiz from Santa Claus and Snegurochka, as well as a show of life-size puppets – a fire extinguisher, a fireman and a medic.

At the end of the event, A. Chupriyan awarded the best players of the match, and also congratulated the winner in the international nomination “Rescue without Borders” of the “Constellation of Courage” festival – Deputy Head of the Research Institute of Fire Safety and Emergency Situations of the Republic of Belarus Elena Dmitruk.
