The first batch of coronavirus vaccine arrived in Voronezh to vaccinate servicemen of the Red Banner Combined Arms Army of the Western Military District.

The vaccine was delivered from St. Petersburg by military doctors by rail in special cold containers to maintain a fixed negative temperature of -18 ° C.

At the initial stage of vaccination, about 400 military personnel will participate on a voluntary basis.

First of all, the vaccine will be received by military medical workers who are directly involved in the diagnosis and treatment of patients with COVID-19, military personnel on alert, command personnel and duty forces of formations and military units of the combined arms army of the Western Military District in the city of Voronezh.

Vaccination with the second component is scheduled to be completed by January 30. In total, more than 3 thousand doses of vaccine against the new coronavirus infection have already been delivered to the ZVO. By the end of December, the total number of vaccine doses will rise to 6,000.

On November 27, Russian Defense Minister General of the Army Sergei Shoigu at a meeting of the Collegium of the Defense Ministry said that, in accordance with the instructions of the President of the Russian Federation, vaccination of the personnel of the Armed Forces against a new coronavirus infection had begun. In total, it is planned to vaccinate over 400,000 servicemen.
