Due to the proximity of the existing tracks and the large number of utilities, the specialists were forced to conduct round-the-clock monitoring of construction work during excavation.

Two running tunnels of reverse dead-ends behind the Delovoy Tsentr station of the Big Circle Line (BCL) of the metro have been completed in full. This was told by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow in the Moscow Government for Urban Development Policy and Construction Andrey Bochkarev.

“The driving of the right running tunnel to the turnaround dead ends behind the Delovoy Tsentr metro station of the Big Circle Metro Line was completed, and in March of this year, the left tunnel was passed. Thus, tunneling work on this section has been completed, ”noted Andrey Bochkarev.

Reversal dead ends are not only necessary for changing directions and overnight stays of trains, but also make it possible to increase their number on the line, thus reducing the interval of movement of trains.

“Currently, the tunnel boring shield is being dismantled and work is underway to build a rigid base for the left tunnel. After that, it is necessary to lay the superstructure of the track and install the equipment. Construction work is planned to be completed next spring, “added Andrei Bochkarev.

Due to the proximity of the existing tracks and the large number of utilities, the specialists were forced to conduct round-the-clock monitoring of construction work during excavation.

“With the help of the Sofia tunnel boring complex, 785 meters of the tunnel were passed, at the same time, mining was carried out on a section of 350 meters. Previously, this shield was laid by the left tunnel. The route passed under the territory of the International Exhibition Center and the former Badaevsky brewery, Krasnopresnenskaya embankment and the channel of the Moskva River, as well as under the existing tunnels of the Filevskaya metro line, “said Yuri Kravtsov, General Director of Mosinzhproekt, a managing company for the construction of new lines and stations of the Moscow metro.

The Big Ring Metro project will be the largest in the history of Moscow metro construction. Its length will be 70 kilometers. The new ring of the metropolitan subway will unite the peripheral areas of the city and will cut travel time in half.
