The crews of the Mi-8AMTSh “Terminator” and Ka-52 “Alligator” helicopters of the military aviation unit of the Eastern Military District, stationed in the village of Chernigovka, Primorsky Territory, struck at the base of the imaginary enemy with unguided aircraft missiles.

On guidance from the command post, the helicopters went to the designated area, searched for the positions of the conditional enemy, disguised as the terrain, and conducted practical firing using unguided missiles at the detected targets. With the aim of avoiding the strike of the “enemy” air defense systems, the pilots in the airspace performed maneuvers of various complexity. In addition, the crews worked out the elements of re-entry to attack, cover each other and escape from the retaliatory strike of the conditional enemy.

The complexity of the flights was that the crews operated at an extremely low altitude with the maximum flight speed.

In total, about 20 crews of the military aviation of the Air Defense Forces and about 10 helicopters were involved.

Combat training missions were also carried out at night using satellite navigation systems, night vision devices and infrared equipment.
