President Ashraf Ghani met with the members of peace negotiating delegation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan this morning at the Presidential Palace.

The First Lady, First Vice President, Second Vice President and Chairman of High Council for National Reconciliation also attended this meeting. The peace negotiating delegation presented their report about the first phase of negotiations with the Taliban group in Doha, Qatar.

President Ashraf Ghani expressed gratitude to the negotiating delegation members that effectively represented the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan in the first phase of negotiations, he added that the delegation should keep the public informed of the developments and progresses of the first phase of negotiations that took place in Doha.

President Ghani stressed that comments and observations of various strata of the Afghan society should be taken into account in the peace process and instructed the members of peace negotiating delegation to consult with different classes of the Afghan society ahead of the second phase of negotiations to be able to represent Afghans from all walks of life in an appropriate manner.
