MIL OSI Translation. Government of the Republic of France statements from French to English –
Source: Republic of France in French The French Republic has issued the following statement:
This Tuesday, December 8, 2020, the infantry section of the Reconnaissance and Intervention Squadron (ERI) organized the first joint training of the mandate with the Lebanese Armed Forces (FAL), in the Kawkaba camp.
After a presentation of the equipment of the French infantryman, the Lebanese soldiers were able to discover the combat vest with modular ballistic structure and the new assault rifle HK 416 Fin endowment to the 5th Dragon Regiment. The training given today focused on individual combat in urban areas. The theory was presented by Sergeant Willfried, followed by a demonstration allowing everyone to clearly visualize the gestures and postures to adopt in this particularly complex environment for the soldier.
“Flash” or “photos” passages, in a fast or safe atmosphere, rat-like or slippery movements, so many very specific techniques to be implemented depending on the presence of the enemy.
Between each demonstration, and before each new exercise, the Lebanese soldiers trained, advised by their French partners. The work between the French and Lebanese pairs also made it possible to establish fruitful professional exchanges as well as good moments of camaraderie.
Before the graduation ceremony which closed this exchange, the Lebanese soldiers were able to take a complete course of walking in an alley and investing a room under the eye of their lieutenant. This joint exercise thus perfectly achieved its objectives of partnership and upgrading of our Lebanese counterparts.
The FCR is a rapid reaction force intervening for the benefit of UNIFIL. Franco-Finnish since 2017, it is endowed with reconnaissance, infantry and airspace surveillance capabilities. Finland has been providing an infantry company since 2017, a sign of active Franco-Finnish cooperation. The French contribution takes the name of Operation DAMAN and counts nearly 700 soldiers.
