From Saturday December 19, 2020, several measures will be gradually implemented on the Vaudois balcony and then in the Vaudois Alps. In the current COVID situation and faced with the large influx of vehicles during the last two snowy weekends, the security partners have decided on measures intended to calm and secure traffic in areas such as the axes leading to the Valley de Joux (Mollendruz and Marchairuz), Ste-Croix-Les Rasses-Bullet, St-Cergue, but also the Riviera (Les Pléiades-Rochers de Naye) and the Vaud Alps (Les Mosses, Leysin, Diablerets, Villars, Gryon).
Thus, in the event of high traffic, traffic axes could be accessible exclusively one-way in order to allow certain portions of the road to accommodate vehicles parked in dedicated places, this to avoid unauthorized parking. Some axes could be closed to traffic and traffic diverted on marked routes. On the access roads to the stations and places concerned, information totems will be affixed to inform users about the availability of parking areas and any disturbances (traffic jams). Some places will be occupied by PCI personnel in order to guide motorists or even prohibit certain accesses. The passage of line and emergency services will be guaranteed in all cases.
All users and all persons wishing to access the areas concerned are invited to comply scrupulously with the signs in place and with the directives of the persons dedicated to traffic management. In the event of overload and very high traffic, it is recommended that you do not travel.
The system implemented is coordinated between the Police, the Directorate General for Mobility and Roads (DGMR) and the Vaud Civil Protection. The measures taken may change according to the situation, political directives and decisions, as well as operational needs.
