WASHINGTON, DC – Last night, U.S. Representative Antonio Delgado (NY-19) held his 49th town hall, this one on Facebook Live. The Congressman opened the event with remarks about the current status of COVID-19 relief negotiations among Congressional leaders, his recent visits to organizations in the district, and his two veterans bills that passed the House unanimously earlier that day. After the introductory remarks, Rep. Delgado answered questions submitted by members of the community on a range of topics including specifics about COVID-19 relief, his Rural Revitalization Now Act, rural broadband, and his work to advocate for farmers in the district.

“Every town hall event is an opportunity to connect with folks in our district and hear about their priorities. As Congress negotiates COVID-19 relief legislation, it is critically important that I am meeting with members of the community and understanding their concerns. I am grateful to everyone who participated in last night’s Facebook Live Town Hall by submitting questions, or by tuning into the video,” said Rep. Delgado. “I will keep holding town halls and finding creative ways to connect with folks on the ground doing the work in our region.”
Throughout his first term, Rep. Delgado has held 49 town halls, including 35 in-person events, and 14 virtual town halls during the COVID-19 pandemic to remain accessible to the district while respecting social distancing measures.
