JACKSON COUNTY– MoDOT Kansas City will be making pavement repairs along southbound I-435 at I-70 on Thursday, Dec. 17 that will require various lane and ramp closures. Motorists should expect delays and find alternate routes if necessary. All work is weather permitting.

  • Crews will close one lane of southbound I-435 at I-70 for pavement repairs on Thursday, Dec. 17 from 7 a.m. until 5 p.m. that evening.
  • Beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, until approximately 3 p.m. that afternoon, crews will REDUCE southbound I-435 at I-70 to ONE LANE.
  • Additionally, the westbound I-70 ramp to southbound I-435 will be CLOSED beginning at 9 a.m. on Thursday, Dec. 17, until approximately 3 p.m. that after.noon

Please be patient and considerate to your fellow motorists. Use the zipper merge and take turns at merge points.  Please remember that all work zones are NO PHONE ZONES. Buckle up. Phone down. Motorists are reminded to slow down and pay attention while driving in work zones. Not all work zones look alike. Work zones can be moving operations, such as striping, patching or mowing. They can also be short term, temporary lane closures to make quick repairs or remove debris from the roadway.
