Bogotá (Dec 17/20). The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Claudia Blum, presided over the ceremony for the reception of the donation by the Government of Peru and thanked the Ambassador of Peru in Colombia, Ignacio Higueras Hare, for the support of his country to the actions of the National Government in the attention of the population affected by Hurricane Iota and the winter season.

The ceremony was held in the San Carlos Palace and was attended by the Vice Minister of Multilateral Affairs, Adriana Mejía, the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs, Francisco Echeverri and Antonio López Reales, from the National Unit for Risk Management of Disasters

The donation was sent in an aircraft of the Peruvian Air Force, which transported basic necessities such as: 500 blankets, 500 sheets, 1700 kitchen utensils, 100 tents with capacity for 5 people, 200 rechargeable flashlights and 100 sets of accessories for water purifiers.

The Foreign Minister highlighted the gesture of support and generosity of the Government of Peru, which in the midst of the humanitarian emergency and the conjunctural challenges derived from the pandemic, deployed this significant aid, which is a reflection of the strong ties of friendship that exist between both countries. .
