With a corona data platform, the Federal Ministry of Economics (BMWi) provides a unique and comprehensive range of data for analyzing the corona pandemic in Germany. The data set is published at The Federal Ministry of Economics is thus supporting an evidence-based economic and crisis policy. For all districts, the range of data includes the entirety of the containment and easing measures taken since the beginning of the crisis and carries numerous other data on the infection rate, the hospital situation, but also on other regional structural data and economic development The data offer was created on behalf of the BMWi by the Bonn market and social research institute infas – Institute for Applied Social Science – together with infas 360 GmbH and in cooperation with the Institute for Hygiene and Public Health at the University of Bonn. The project was accompanied by an interdisciplinary expert board, in which, among others, the virologist Prof. Dr. Hendrick Streeck and the economic researcher Prof. Dr. Andreas Peichl were represented. For the research data platform, infas recorded and evaluated approx. 550 ordinances at federal state level and over 2,200 general directives at district level in detail. In addition, the database includes numerous other data series on epidemiological-medical, socio-demographic and economic topics, which are available to users for analysis with just a few clicks. The data is available free of charge for research purposes after a one-time registration. The data offer is to be continuously updated, expanded and improved in the coming months.
