Modern technologies allow convicts to keep in touch with their families and develop their creative potential, and employees of correctional institutions can fully perform their official tasks.

In 2020, employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Komi Republic, subordinate units and institutions showed high organization and promptly began to use modern work formats in the performance of official tasks.

Thus, in the direction of social work with convicts, classes with representatives of various social services, employment centers and recruitment companies, as well as legal advice, have shifted to a distance format. Dozens of online meetings were held via video conferencing over the year. Also, through the Internet, correctional institutions of the Komi Federal Penitentiary Service began to assist convicts in finding work in the information-analytical system “All-Russian database of vacancies“ Work in Russia ”. Thus, the convicts had the opportunity, even before their release, to start searching for the desired vacancies in the region where they plan to live.

The remote format of work began to be used in the vocational training of convicts: masters of industrial training of vocational educational institutions recorded a number of master classes on a variety of topics and demonstrated them to their students. Thus, they managed not only to continue qualitatively, but also to enrich the educational process.

Modern communication technologies became very popular in correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service in the outgoing year. Special technical devices with a video communication system, which allow you to see relatives at a distance, are actively used in most colonies: in Syktyvkar, Mikun, Ukhta, Pechora and Vorkuta, as well as in the Knyazhpogost region of the republic. The possibility of recording video messages also caused a lot of positive feedback from the relatives of the convicts. Any convict can not only say warm words to his relatives on camera, congratulate them on the holiday, but even make, for example, an artistic video sketch.

Thanks to the actively developing work of cable television studios in correctional institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service, it became possible for convicts to participate in various competitions and creative projects. Convicts created videos with their performances for the 16th All-Russian competition for the best performance of songs among convicts “Kalina Krasnaya” competition for the best theatrical performance among convicts of correctional institutions of the UFSIN. It is especially worth noting the remote participation of convicts in the All-Russian competition “In the zone of talents”: a convict from IK-25 demonstrated amazing YoYo skills in his video performance and became the winner.

The use of modern media formats allowed the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service to reach a new level in the direction of campaigning with the population. The personnel services of the Federal Penitentiary Service and correctional institutions have created several short, capacious and dynamic motivational videos that are posted on all possible resources on the Internet, on the websites of educational organizations of the Komi Republic, on street screens in cities and regional centers of the republic. Also, modern media projects allow representatives of the Federal Penitentiary Service to participate in online career guidance campaigns for school graduates of the republic in social networks.

Using the capabilities of modern technologies, the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service took part in many creative projects organized by the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the regional department, as well as in the Komi Republic.

Thus, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia launched an annual action “Living History”, where the video of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia for the Komi Republic was presented and highly appreciated. The filming was attended not only by employees of the apparatus and various units of the Federal Penitentiary Service, but also representatives of the public and children. The participants of the project read the poem “Sanitary Train”, which was written by a veteran of military operations, chairman of the Regional Branch of the All-Russian Public Organization of Veterans of the Penitentiary System of the Komi Republic Andrei Kanev.

The first stage of the Sixth All-Russian contest “Miss UIS” was also held in the distance format – for this the contestants had to record six video performances.

Also, employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service took an active part in all-Russian challenges: “Read books” as part of the all-Russian campaign “Your friends are books”, “#StartUtrosZaryadki” dedicated to the Day of the Athlete, challenge to the 30th anniversary of the formation of special purpose departments and the creation of the cookbook “Cook like special forces.”

In November, the republic hosted the “Super Family of the Komi Republic” competition, in which the video of the family of the deputy head of IK-31 Igor Shashev was recognized as one of the winners.

Thus, applying modern technologies in practical work, using the capabilities of the Internet and social networks, the employees of the Federal Penitentiary Service develop social and educational work with convicts, organize the creative leisure of employees, actively participate in the life of the region and inform the residents of the republic about the activities of the Federal Penitentiary Service, as well as employment opportunities and receiving education in educational institutions of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia.
