The Russian peacekeeping contingent, in accordance with the assigned tasks, continues to monitor the implementation of the agreements on the cessation of hostilities in Nagorno-Karabakh.

At the moment we are in the Russian military field hospital in Stepanakert, where qualified medical assistance is provided not only to our military personnel, but also to the local population. To date, at this hospital, Russian specialists have already provided assistance to 29 local residents, including four children.

In the city of Mardakert, the deployment of the second military hospital has been completed, which is starting to provide medical support to Russian peacekeepers and residents of nearby settlements. In addition, assistance to local residents is provided by mobile teams of military doctors. In total, 558 people have already received it, including 67 children.

As of December 16, the safe return to Nagorno-Karabakh of more than 40 thousand refugees was ensured. With the help of peacekeepers, the power supply system was completely restored. For this, repair work was carried out on 18 km of power lines and 50 supports. The uninterrupted supply of electricity to 24 settlements with a total number of residents of more than 12 thousand people has been resumed.

Russian sappers of the Center for Humanitarian Demining have cleared 195 hectares of territory and 60 kilometers of roads from unexploded mines and shells. Checked for unexploded ordnance in 405 buildings. More than six thousand explosive objects were discovered and destroyed.

Together with representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross, the exchange of bodies of the dead between the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides continues, as well as the search for the missing. To improve the efficiency of this work, the number of search groups has been increased – from three to five.

The hotline for collecting data on missing servicemen and civilians deployed at the headquarters of the Russian peacekeeping contingent received over 490 telephone calls.

In accordance with the agreements reached by the commander of the Russian peacekeeping contingent, Lieutenant General Muradov, on December 14, an exchange of prisoners was held in the city of Baku on the principle of “all for all”.

Rebuilding infrastructure and maintaining peace in the region will continue as planned.
