Exports of honey and beekeeping products from the Primorsky Territory in 2020 increased by 19.4%, the press service of the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Primorsky Territory told TASS on Wednesday.
“According to the Rosselkhoznadzor Administration for the Primorsky Territory and the Sakhalin Region, as of December 14, 2020, consignments of honey and beekeeping products with a total weight of 1,067.8 tons were sent from the Primorsky Territory. Compared to 2019, exports increased by 19.4%,” – reported in the department.
Most of the products were sent to China: 81 consignments of honey with a total weight of 1,062.8 tons. Two more consignments of honey weighing 3.8 tons were exported to Japan and two consignments weighing 1.2 tons – to the Republic of Korea. For all export consignments, the Rosselkhoznadzor department issued veterinary accompanying documents.
This year, the My Business Center in the Primorsky Territory held an educational program “Beekeeping Energy” for honey producers. Its participants attended a course of lectures and master classes on promoting their products, reducing costs, modern beekeeping technologies and other areas. The center also launched a new service to promote goods from coastal producers in other countries, which was used by some of the local beekeepers.
