MIL OSI Translation. Government of the Republic of France statements from French to English –

Source: Republic of France in French The French Republic has issued the following statement:

After two months of mission, the surveillance frigate (FS) Ventôse docked this Tuesday, December 15 at Fort-de-France, its base port. Integrating the mandate 154 of operation CORYMBE within a Task group (TG) commanded by the amphibious helicopter carrier (PHA) Dixmude, the Ventôse contributed to the protection of French interests in the Gulf of Guinea and cooperated with the coastal seas.

By carrying out patrols in particular in connection with the different countries adhering to the Yaoundé process, Ventôse has worked to fight against illegal, unreported and unregulated (IUU) fishing in the Gulf of Guinea and off the coast of Africa. from West. Thus, the Ventôse operated with the navies of Togo, Gabon, Cameroon, Sao Tome and Principe, Benin, Senegal and Cape Verde. It was also with this country, and in particular the Mindelo Maritime Operational Center (COM) that the French frigate carried out its last joint patrol (SAGNE) before starting its transatlantic crossing. IUU fishing is particularly developed in this region and has direct negative consequences on the local economy and on biodiversity.

In an area strongly marked by piracy, the Ventôse has also made it possible to display a dissuasive presence, thus offering security assurance.

Finally, on several occasions, Ventôse has taken advantage of its meetings with other European buildings present in the area to increase the level of interoperability. Meetings with the Italian and Spanish navies provided an opportunity to practice over-surface wrestling, shooting exercises, as well as group moves and aviation maneuvers.

After a new transatlantic return, the Ventôse is now ready to resume its missions in the Caribbean.

Since 1990, France has deployed one or two buildings on a CORYMBE mission almost permanently in the Gulf of Guinea, in particular to help reduce maritime insecurity, by helping to build the capacities of navies bordering the Gulf and centers of the structure resulting from the Yaoundé process. The deployment of French buildings on a CORYMBE mission completes the French system stationed in West Africa and participates in the maritime component of operational cooperation implemented regionally by these presence forces.
