Decree of December 14, 2020 No. 2086

Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin signed a decree to expand the list of social services for people with disabilities and the elderly who need constant care.

We are talking about patients living in specialized institutions. As a rule, they are not able to serve themselves independently and need the help of a social worker. In case of hospitalization in a medical organization, they also need the constant presence of an assistant and care.

Now social workers need to arrange business trips to care for the elderly and disabled in the hospital. But it takes time, so this practice is almost never used. The new government decree will allow social workers to help their wards in the hospital without unnecessary difficulties. Thus, in fact, a new social service appears – the accompaniment of a citizen by a social worker within the walls of a medical institution.
