In the period from 9 to 14 December, psychologists of the psychological laboratory of the colony-settlement No. 51 of the Department of Administration of the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia in the Komi Republic (Emva) conducted a series of classes aimed at the development of thought processes, namely attention, memory, synthesis, analysis and differentiation.
Classes were conducted both in group and in individual form. Employees of the department for educational work with convicts KP-51 were asked to perform various tasks using geometric shapes (polygons, triangles, circles, squares, trapezoids and parallelograms).
The events were held in 3 stages, which differed in the level of difficulty. At the first – “Easy” – level, it was necessary to copy the image from the offered card. The “medium” level of difficulty involved reproducing the image of the card in a mirror image, and during the “Hard” level, employees copied the image from memory.
As the head of the psychological laboratory KP-51 Yulia Vashchenko explained, the purpose of these lessons is to improve logic, intelligence, spatial thinking, fantasy and memory.
– These classes allow developing the thought processes of each participant and contribute to team building, creating a good mood, and accumulating charge for the coming working day. Thanks to this technique, the employee develops the skills of solving problems arising in the process of service, and making non-standard decisions, ” noted Yulia Vaschenko.
